Trustgreen is pleased to announce our official membership with the House Builders Federation (HBF). This collaboration marks a significant milestone for the company, reinforcing a long-standing commitment to delivering award-winning, sustainable open space management which enhances biodiversity and supports the creation of thriving residential communities.
Who are HBF?
The House Builders Federation is the premier trade association representing the home building industry across England and Wales. Its member companies comprise national PLC housebuilders as well as regional mid-sized and local family businesses, collectively delivering approximately 80% of all new-build homes each year. As a pivotal industry body, the HBF plays a crucial role in engaging with government entities, shaping national housing policy, and driving forward operational and environmental standards across the sector.
Trustgreen’s Unique Role
While the core membership of the HBF consists of housebuilders and property developers, Trustgreen occupies a distinct and essential position within this network. Operating strictly as a specialist open space management company rather than a developer, Trustgreen focuses entirely on the long-term stewardship, maintenance, and ecological enhancement of the green infrastructure surrounding new residential developments.
The success of a housing development relies also on the quality of its surrounding environment. Alongside the developers’ focus on constructing high-quality housing, Trustgreen provides the specialised expertise required to manage the Public Open Spaces (POS), Sustainable urban Drainage Systems (SuDS), and dedicated wildlife habitats. This specialised focus creates a vital bridge between initial infrastructure delivery and permanent environmental conservation.
Ongoing Collaboration
Joining the HBF provides Trustgreen with an invaluable platform to engage directly with industry leaders and contribute our ecological expertise to national conversations. As the sector navigates complex legislative frameworks, such as the introduction of statutory Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) requirements and evolving environmental sustainability targets, the alignment between developers and open space management companies becomes increasingly critical.
Through this membership, Trustgreen is uniquely positioned to assist housebuilders in fulfilling their environmental obligations, ensuring that managed green spaces deliver measurable ecological value alongside commercial compliance.
This membership represents a proactive partnership and Trustgreen are looking forward to collaborating with fellow HBF members, sharing best practices in landscape management, and demonstrating how professional environmental stewardship enhances the long-term value and viability of new communities.
Together with the HBF, Trustgreen remains dedicated to supporting new residential communities and providing environmental excellence within nature-rich spaces for future generations.
