What is a Community Champion?

Trustgreen Community Champions are just that – there to champion their communities!

They help to build the foundations of new communities as well as engage with wider, existing communities, balancing the needs of both residents and the environment to promote cohesion and kinship. We approach our role with the utmost consideration and understanding.

Promoting social action

Our community champions make a difference at a grassroots level, and these small differences show other community members that they can collaborate and make a difference too. There are many ways in which community cohesion and harmony can be achieved and our community champions help to promote positive partnerships, finding and developing community assets and connecting them to resources.

Educating a community

The role of a community champion is to encourage the delivery of activities within the community which contributes to the health, wellbeing, and safety of the residents. The community champions’ local knowledge and contacts are invaluable to helping create and maintain local activity groups. Our community champions work in partnership with many organisations in the area to help facilitate and support community activities and education for new and existing residents.

Meet Emma – one of our champions

“I think there are many ways in which community cohesion and harmony can be achieved, but I am most looking forward to seeing the positive partnerships that will emerge through engaging with and developing the communities’ green spaces.”

Meet Afzal – one of our champions

“I’ve had a lifelong passion for social & environmental stewardship from a young age. I’ve worked as an advocate for the voice of local community, and making the case for diverse supply chain eco-systems.”

In championing the needs of the growing community in Harry Stoke, Afzal is keen to ensure residents have a welcoming environment, with accessible local facilities for all.
