Community Fun Day
In April 2023, we hosted a community day on one of our managed developments in Pontefract in partnership with Haworth Group. The event was a great opportunity to get to know the community and gain feedback from residents. This feedback provides us with valuable insights on how we can best manage the development and provide open space management that is tailored to their needs. Over 50 adults and 60 children were in attendance.
Planting and Painting
Activities on the day included an easter egg scavenger hunt, seed planting, bird box painting with lots of colouring and crafts. The scavenger hunt was centred around local wildlife, with informative posters dotted around the site so that both children and adults could learn about native species that call the development their home. The sunflower seed planting was very popular, with lots of people getting stuck in and taking their flowerpots home ready to plant in their garden.
Rooted in nature
This project has helped Trustgreen to establish a relationship with the residents, and their relationship with the nature on their development. We look to inspire the next generation and safeguard existing habitats, this includes carbon sequestration, the protection and reestablishment of endangered species and helping to develop stronger communities with roots based in nature.
